Milestone moment for Soch with the launch of its 100th store

Soch, the one-stop destination for all your ethnic needs, celebrated a landmark occasion in its retail history with the launch of its 100th store in the country, in the city of Hyderabad. The store, located at the Inorbit Mall, is also Soch’s ninth outlet in the city.

The new store, which is spread over 2293 sq feet, will offer the complete range of Soch’s fashion wardrobe featuring their stylish and elegant designer ethnic wear like sarees, salwar kameez, kurtis, kurti suits, readymade blouses and bottoms, including their all-new collections – Mia and Nadia.

This launch also marks an important step in the brand’s attempt to establish its footprint in the burgeoning retail market in the city, as well as reinforce its pan-India presence. Hyderabad is currently ranked as the sixth-largest urban agglomeration in the country and it is the fourth-largest market for retail among the major cities in India. Soch made its Hyderabad debut in October 2013 at the Manjeera Mall, while the second store opened at the Forum Sujana Mall the following year.

Commenting on the launch, Vinay Chatlani, Co-founder and CEO, Soch said, “It has been an incredible journey for the brand, from opening their first outlet of 600 sq ft in Forum, Bangalore to crowning the century at the Inorbit Mall, Hyderabad. Both malls are among the top malls of the country and once again reaffirm Soch’s commitment to excellence that has been the hallmark of this journey,” he said. “Despite having a sizeable customer base with high consumption and retail expenditure, modern retail penetration in Hyderabad is just 9%, the lowest among the top seven cities in the country. Soch would certainly not miss an opportunity to be a part of an emerging multi-channel retail market with new retail formats spreading their foot prints. We believe in opening more profitable stores rather than just increasing store counts.”

Soch currently has four more EBOs in the pipeline for Hyderabad and the plan is to ramp up to around 18 stores in the city.  The brand has 100 EBOs and 47 LFS stores currently operational in the country. Soch’s expected sales for the financial year 2017-18 is estimated to be at 425Cr. Future expansion plans entail a move towards more unrepresented markets like Tier 2 cities, while at the same time, enhancing its presence in major metros as well. While the South and West have been traditional strongholds for Soch, the roadmap ahead not only includes reinforcing its hold there, but also actively developing a North and East footprint
