Hon’ble Deputy chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia @the inaugural launch of the program, Marubeni

At the inaugural launch of the program, Marubeni India invited Scholarship applications across India using electronic and print media. As a result, More than 1900 applications were received, approximately 330 applicants could make it to the telephonic round of interview held in February 11, 2017 at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Goa office of Marubeni India.

The final 100 meritorious students were selected after thorough knowledge and need assessment and were awarded with the financial aid of INR 40,000 each to support their higher education and expenses of books, stationary and other allied expenses.

Upon final selection, the scholarship award distribution ceremony was held on March 20, 2017 at C D Deshmukh Auditorium, India international Center, New Delhi.The event was marked by the presence of Hon’ble Deputy chief Minister of Delhi and Minister of Education Shri Manish Sisodia and Mr.Gaurav Jhunjhunwala- Director, S Chand Group.

Mr.Manasvi Singh, Co-Founder Buddy4Study said it will be great if more corporates come forward and help deserving and needy students with scholarships as their CSR initiative.
Marubeni India is committed to encourage Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in various parts of India. Illustrative of this commitment, “The Marubeni India Meritorious scholarship Program” was successfully launched in December, 2016.The program encompasses financial aid offering that supports higher education to meritorious students among under-represented groups &whose family income is less than INR 2,00,000/- per annum.
